Description
The two assonant Latin words “nox et nux” (“night and walnut”) inspired a belief, which has been passed down from generation to generation over the centuries. According to tradition, the still unripe walnuts must be harvested at the peak of their balsamic moment on the night of St. John the Baptist, which is celebrated on 24th June. An artisanal liqueur made according to tradition, dense, with a bright brown colour and an intense scent of walnuts. Enjoy Babbo Elio’s nocino at the end of a meal, at a temperature of 18/20 degrees or served with a few ice cubes during the summer season. It goes perfectly with dried fruit, dark chocolate, dry biscuits and roasted chestnuts in season.
Design
The labels on the ampoules of old pharmacies, yellowed by time, are the primary inspiration for the design created by Sara Goldoni, Babbo Elio’s granddaughter and partner of the homonymous farm. It is a direct reference to the dual nature of these ancient liqueurs, which, like magical elixirs, combine taste and beneficial properties.
