PIGNOLETTO DI MODENA C.D.O. (Controlled Designation of Origin) – AZ. AGR. BABBO ELIO

Description

In Solignano, in the heart of the Castelvetro’s municipality, among the lands and vineyards handed down from Babbo Elio to his son Alberto, two hectares of land are entirely dedicated to the production of Pignoletto di Modena. This CDO-certified wine, which is the result of artisanal and sustainable procedures, has a straw yellow colour with greenish hues, a persistent perfume and a slightly bitter aftertaste. Thanks to its fruity fragrance, that whets the appetite, Babbo Elio’s Pignoletto di Modena CDO is the right choice for your aperitifs based on eggs, young cheeses and cold cuts. Versatile and fresh, it also perfectly matches vegetable risottos, seafood first courses and white meat or grilled fish second courses.

Design

The Last Maps artist duo returns to create the beautiful labels of the farm’s wines. The choice fell on two birds, both thriving in the Emilian territories and since the mid-1970s undisputed symbols of the Modenese nightlife: the red woodpecker (for Grasparossa) and the green woodpecker (for Pignoletto). They were depicted in a hyper-realistic manner, with a very thin and refined stroke known as “dot work”, while holding between their legs a grape, the precious element at the heart of our whole story.
