This is why we at the Babbo Elio farm wanted to celebrate the variety of our land with a preserve that contains and enhances its lesser known fruits. Pears and quinces, apple varieties such as the Roman rose, the musona and the ciabatta, and finally the pir pistola, a large pear. It is a declaration of love to those forgotten tastes that strive to be rediscovered. Add this preserve to your pantry to tempt your friends and family with pies and cakes with an unusual flavour. Or savour it for breakfast over a slice of toast to amaze your palate with ancient tastes full of history.

Description (Normal, Sour And Morello Cherry Preserve)

The variety of nature packed in a jar. Fruits with a more acidulous and distinctive taste (“amarene”, sour cherries, with light-coloured pulp and juice and a slightly sour flavour, and the lesser known “marasche”, morello cherries, smaller and blackish-red in colour, with a bitter taste) are added to the very sweet cherries. Together, they create the perfect balance for an unexpected preserve, which will particularly appeal to people who are curious and always willing to try something new. Babbo Elio’s normal, sour and morello cherry preserve can be used to add an extra touch to yoghurt or to garnish a nice bowl of ice cream. But you can also use it to try your hand at more complex pastry recipes, such as the delicious Black Forest cake.

You cannot think of a freshly made jam tart without recalling memories of home, of afternoon snacks prepared with love. The care and the “know-how” of our grandmothers have been encapsulated in Babbo Elio’s apricot preserve jars. As soon as the cap is removed, the scent and the slightly sour taste of apricots will reveal a universe of memories and flavours. Use our apricot preserve to fill cakes and tarts or to make tasty biscuits. Try it on fresh cheeses, such as ricotta, or enjoy it pure on a slice of toast to start your day.

Design

The artist chosen for Babbo Elio’s preserve and sauce labels is by now an institution in the world of tattooing. Her name is Serena Ferrarini, better known as Seretattoo. Her distinctive work, which favours stylised figures, portrays the typical country family with its amusing members and their respective characteristics and roles.
